This reserved space will contain the narrated overview for Policy Family XI. The written policy below remains the controlling text.
General Rule
Only enrolled students, authorized College personnel, approved guests, and invited speakers may attend class sessions, labs, fieldwork, online meetings, or restricted course communication spaces.
Children in Class
Because courses may involve sensitive criminal-justice, cybercrime, investigative, legal, graphic, confidential, or adult professional content, children generally may not attend class sessions, labs, or course activities. A student facing an unexpected childcare emergency should contact Professor Wandt as soon as possible to discuss available options.
Guests
Students may not bring a guest to class, a lab, fieldwork, an online meeting, or a restricted Discord area without prior permission. A guest may be denied or removed when the person’s presence would affect confidentiality, safety, instructional focus, or the learning environment.
Individual Meetings
A student who needs to bring a child or another person to an in-office meeting should state that need in the private Discord message used to arrange the meeting. Professor Wandt may instead arrange a virtual Zoom session, reschedule, or take other steps to protect confidential material.
Confidentiality
Students may not expose a guest or child to confidential course discussions, student information, investigative material, sensitive images, protected records, law-enforcement-sensitive content, or private communications.
